Finished my proposal, I have now thought of an idea for my video and it will be a music video, I specifically chose this as it will be easy to film and because I enjoy filming music videos and planning it all. I also made a mind map to help me brainstorm some ideas into what I want to show in the video and the different locations/props/costumes etc.

I have written my rationale for the proposal and will soon finish it all so I can start the other tasks and finish before the deadline. I still need to think of an idea for my final major project video but I still have no idea what to do so I will be looking at my friends ideas and get some from that and will also be doing some research.

I have now finished my proposal including the rationale, concept and evaluation of my idea, I have also used Harvard Referencing for all the above. This has been an easy process as once I thought of an idea I knew exactly what I wanted to do so I wrote all that down in my proposal.

I have finally finished my case study task and now I can be fully focused on my unit 13 final major project task.

I finished the first half of my case study, I chose and talked about a historical film which is a film called Psycho. I still need to pick a contemporary film however I still have not started as I am working on unit 13 and forgot all about the second part of the case study. I will start it as soon as possible. What I could have done differently is finish the whole of unit 12 before starting unit 13 as it made me forget to finish this task which will waste some time.

We have now finished filming and will be editing shortly, the video did not turn out the way I expected it too and also when we were filming there was a lot of noise in the background and people coming in and out which made us have to re-shoot the scene a couple of times. What I could have done differently is film somewhere else maybe in one of my group members house and shoot the staircase scene there, this way there will be no one bothering us and wasting our time by re-shooting the scene.

My group have decided to stick to the shining scene as it is the easiest one we think we can do, I  am thinking of getting two people from the group to be the actors as we only need 2 people. One of us will also have to get a bat as that is the only props we need and we are planning to film on the staircase inside the college.

I just started my first task which is the research and analysis in film practice, I have also been thinking of ideas to film with my group. We have been watching some scenes from different movies to help us pick one or come up with an idea of our own.

We are thinking of recreating a scene from The Shining, and filming the staircase scene but we are not 100% sure yet.

My video portfolio is now finished and I am happy with it as I got the chance to look back at these old videos that I filmed and see the difference now and how much I have improved with my camera and filming skills. The one thing I could have done differently is make the video longer as it is quite short because I did not have many clips to put in. I also could have edited a bit better as it looks rushed and not as good as I expected it to be.

 

 

My CV and Personal Statement are now finished, I did not have trouble with this as I already had both of them ready so it was a quick process. Now I am working on my video portfolio, I am struggling to find all the past videos that I have taken throughout the years of me studying in college, however I have lost some of them and cannot find all of them. What I could have done differently is to not delete any of my previous videos as I thought I do not need them anymore and keep them all in one folder so I can find them easily.
